err code

Nice to meet you.

I have been using this model, but I get the error "operation system not found."

I suspect a problem with the HDD, so I physically removed it and connected it to another PC. Other forms say to run chkdsk/r, but how exactly should I do that?

I look forward to your reply.

Steps to Run on a Detached HDD:

  1. Connect the HDD to Another PC:

    • Ensure the HDD is properly connected to the other computer using an external HDD enclosure, SATA-to-USB adapter, or by connecting it directly via SATA cables inside the PC.
  2. Open Command Prompt with Administrative Privileges:

    • Press and select "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" depending on your version of Windows.
  3. Identify the Drive Letter of the HDD:

    • Open File Explorer and check under "This PC" to identify the drive letter assigned to the connected HDD (e.g.,,, etc.).
  4. Run :

    • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, replacing with the drive letter of the connected HDD:

      bashCopy code
    • Press Enter.

    • The flag tells to locate bad sectors and recover readable information, in addition to fixing any file system errors.

  5. Wait for the Process to Complete:

    • Depending on the size of the HDD and the extent of any damage, this process could take a significant amount of time. Be patient and allow the system to complete the scan and repair.
  6. Review the Results:

    • Once the process completes, will report on any issues found and repaired. You can review the summary to understand whether there were bad sectors or file system errors that were fixed.
  7. Safely Disconnect the HDD:

    • Once done, safely disconnect the HDD from your PC and reinstall it back into the Toshiba Xario XG machine.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

In conclusion, it appears that the problem is not a logical failure of the HDD, but a physical failure.

Since repairs are expensive, I think I will try to replace the HDD head myself. I think it will be difficult to repair it beyond that.

I will post again once I have replaced the head.

Hello everyone.

We replaced the head of the hard disk, but were unable to recover it. The model number of the hard disk is Seagate ST3320418AS.

It is connected to the board via a SATA connection. I thought that if I could replace it with an SSD, I could speed up the boot time, but since I cannot extract the data from the boot disk, I have decided that further repairs are not possible.

Thank you very much to everyone who replied.
