The B. Braun Dialog+ dialysis machine displaying a white screen with a red alarm followed by a continuous beep and system failure indicates a serious issue, possibly related to hardware or software. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide:

1. Power Cycle the Machine:

  • Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, plug the machine back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset internal components and clear minor issues.

2. Check for Loose or Damaged Connections:

  • During transport or movement, connections inside the machine could have become loose.
  • Inspect the internal cables (especially those leading to the display and control board) to ensure that they are securely connected. A loose connection might cause the white screen.

3. Inspect the Power Supply:

  • Verify that the machine is receiving the correct voltage and that the power supply is functioning properly. An unstable power supply can cause startup errors and failure to boot.

4. Check the Alarm Code:

  • The red alarm should have a corresponding error code. If you can see a code on the screen, refer to the Dialog+ manual to identify the issue.
  • If no error code is displayed, the issue may be related to a deeper system failure (like the mainboard or software).

5. Test the Display:

  • The white screen could indicate a failure in the display unit itself. Check if the screen is working by shining a flashlight at an angle to see if there’s a faint image, which could indicate a problem with the backlight.
  • If you suspect the display is faulty, it may need to be repaired or replaced.

6. Check for Firmware or Software Corruption:

  • If the machine fails to boot into the system, the issue could be due to firmware corruption.
  • You may need to reinstall the system software. This often requires contacting B. Braun support to get the appropriate software or firmware update and detailed instructions.

7. Inspect the Internal Components:

  • Check for any visible signs of damage inside the machine (burn marks, damaged circuit boards, etc.). These could indicate a failed component, like the mainboard or memory.
  • Inspect the mainboard for any blown capacitors or damaged chips.

I’m dealing with the same issue with dialog+:

Receiving an error code: sound card not found.

Is this a software or hardware problem?

Any suggestions how to fix it?

Thank you…
