We had a power spike and now the Mars Application will not open. The error we get most often when attempting to open is "Unexpected Exception caught in WinTaskEventHandler"

Mars Application will not open

I would try reinstalling the software first but it sounds like a windows error. You may have to repair or reinstall windows.
What about doing a system restore to an earlier date?

Thanks for the posting, unfortunately system restore was never set up so there were no restore points to go to. We ended up calling GE and paying the $325 per hour for tech support because we were having trouble locating software to reinstall. The good news was it was an easy fix which I will post in case anyone else finds themselves in a similiar situation.
1) RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER
2) CLICK EXPLORE
3) CLICK GEMSIT
4) CLICK VAR
5) CLICK MARS NT
6) CLICK HOME
7) CLICK MEI
8) RENAME MEI.ENV TO MEI.OLD
9) RESTART
Once you rename that environmental file it forces the program to reconstitute it. It takes the program back to factory defaults, but inour case it fixed the problem.

That Sucks about the $325. At least they knew how to fix it, without having to buy the software.
You guys should probably do a backup or clone the hard drive.
Some older systems like the old Philips monitors are quicker to replace a cloned hard drive then to reinstall or do a ghost image.
