AMO Phaco Machine Part Issue

I have an Advanced Medical Optics Sovereign Phaco machine and the IV pole is not raising or lowering. When I try to I can hear the motor hum and I can see something click. I swapped out the controller board with one I had in another machine and this didn't resolve the issue. After that I called up Abbott Medical Optics and they said it's probably the actuator in the motor assembly. They want $5,700 for the part! Does anyone know of a place I can get the part or have it repaired? The p/n Abbott gave me is F680152. Originally posted by T.Citak

What's the Part number on the Actuator or the motor. I'm sure it's just a regular actuator, you can probably get it from a tool/motor supply store.

ABBOT MEDICAL is out of touch. I have serviced phaco equipment for years and they will not sell me any parts. You have to take their 10K course and be certified before they will talk with you about purchasing parts. Plus you have to be with a hospital to get the training. I have the IV pole complete for $2800 if you are interested. john@medisurg.com
