1. Perform a Soft Reset (Basic Step):
- Turn Off the Bed:
- Disconnect the bed from the power supply by unplugging it.
- Wait:
- Leave it powered down for about 1–2 minutes.
- Turn It Back On:
- Reconnect the power supply and turn the bed back on to see if the service light clears.
2. Reset Through the User Interface:
If the bed has an advanced control interface or diagnostic menu, you can reset the service light manually:
- Access the Menu:
- Navigate to the settings or diagnostic menu on the control panel.
- Locate the Reset Option:
- Look for options such as "Service Light Reset" or "Maintenance Reset."
- Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- If prompted, confirm the reset.
- The service light should turn off.
3. Perform a Manual Reset via Service Mode:
For certain models of Hillrom beds, you may need to enter service mode to reset the light:
- Enter Service Mode:
- Refer to the service manual for specific steps. This often involves pressing a combination of buttons on the control panel (e.g., holding the "Up" and "Down" buttons for a few seconds).
- Reset the Indicator:
- Once in service mode, select the option to reset the service indicator.
- Exit Service Mode:
- Save changes and exit service mode.
