IE33 Ultrasound unit (E cart)

Hello, IE33 Ultrasound Unit downloading patient information very slow. Wiped harddrive clean. replaced Cat 5 cable. checked both data locs in rooms transmitting on. (ok) other ultrasound units transmitting ok from two different locations. Still downloading slowly. I am re-seating the boards and connectors on the UMB motherboard assembly. Has anyone had this problem? Originally asked by C.Humphries via TN

if your unit processing speed is slow and still you don't delete the previous archived data then delete some patient archive data first then check.

Usually when i encounter these issues, it means that you have too many files stored and must delete some. This may be old patient information. I saw that you formatted the hard drive. Also, i suggest defragmenting the drive. Also, if you are saving the information to another external drive that is almost full, this could do the same. Has this unit recieved a recent software upgrade? If so, then this may also have affected your unit and may need to be downloaded again.

Is the speed specific to only your unit or does it seem to be universal? I agree that it may be beneficial to check the fan. After that you should check the archived data. Sometimes the system just needs to be cleaned out. If you have years and years of patient information you may want to export it and make some room for new information. I did some research and if the issue is technical, I found that you can purchase new equipment or a new ie33 online. Try those options first, however. Let me know if they work.

1.  Check to see if you are sending the images as compressed vs. uncompressed by getting into setups.  Difference being sending a zipped MB file and an unzipped megabyte file.  That is the most common cause of slow send issues.

2.  Clean out your patient database file.  If operators are simply deleting it leaves behind widows and orphans.  Although formatting should have taken care of it.  Simply go to setups, print/network and global config. find the reset patient database button and proceed.

3. I have seen three machines with intermittent issues along these lines that had bad incoming power cables.  These systems are very susceptible to poor ground issues and the power cords that Philips supplies are cheap and the it seems the grounding is the first thing to go.

Let us know but I would almost bet my teenager that you are sending in uncompressed mode.

do you use MWL? worklist? is that also slow? delete ALL patient files, use the network settings from 2nd system to isolate issue with system or network info. If still happens on this system check ALL network settings, compression settings, and such in set up screen.
