A "Tx Master firmware load failed" and "Failure fail component test" on the Custom Ultrasonics SonixTouch ultrasound system usually indicates a firmware corruption or a hardware communication failure between the system and its transducer modules.

Possible Causes & Solutions

1. Power Cycle the System (Basic Reset)

  • Turn off the SonixTouch system.
  • Unplug the power cable and wait 5-10 minutes.
  • Reconnect all cables and ensure the system is properly grounded.
  • Power on the device and check if the firmware loads correctly.

2. Check Connections & Transducer Ports

  • If the transducer probe is connected, unplug it and restart the system without it.
  • Inspect the probe connectors for bent or broken pins.
  • Ensure the internal boards and cables inside the system are securely seated.

3. Reload Firmware (If Available)

  • Some SonixTouch systems allow for a manual firmware reload via a USB drive.
  • Check if you have a backup firmware file or an installation disk.
  • If available, try reinstalling or updating the firmware following the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Check System Logs (If Accessible)

  • If you can access the service menu, check error logs for more details.
  • Look for specific error codes that may indicate which component is failing.

5. Verify Power Supply Stability

  • A failing power supply unit (PSU) can cause firmware loading issues.
  • If possible, measure the output voltage of the power supply.
  • If the system uses a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), try bypassing it and connecting directly to the wall outlet.
