Error Code 503

Hello, I have a Philips iU22 that is throwing error code 503. I have almost completely disassembled the machine, inspecting components on the PCBs and reseating connectors. Doing so hasn't fixed the error. Everything internally looks to be in good condition. My next plan is to call my local Philips service line and ask for the password for the diagnostic console to run 'reinstallembedded fec'. I believe this is a recommended corrective action based on the service bulletin.

I have a few questions:

- It is currently Saturday where I live so I will have to wait until Monday to call Philips. Are they likely to help me with the diagnostic console password?

- What is the difference between the MTE, diagnostic console, and tech admin?

- What is the 'ITE based' login option on the diagnostic console?

- Assuming the 'reinstallembedded fec' command does not work. What is my next step? I don't have a replacement FEC and I doubt I will be able to buy one as I am assuming I won't be able to afford a new one. With that being said, how much are they roughly (in AUD)?

Thank you in advance.

Eror 503

Platform Monitor failed to start the Acquisition Control process.

Possible causes: (1) the Host is unable to communicate with the Front-End Controller (FEC) or (2) FEC has the wrong flash data. Correct communication problems between the Dual Signal Conditioner (DSC) and FEC. From the MTE run 'reinstallembedded fec'.

Thank you JulioLeduan. I do have that information from the service bulletin. I am going to contact Philips to see if they will provide me the MTE login password tomorrow.

Nathanial, do you have any more info about how you did the OS reinstallation? I assume this is different from running ‘reinstallembedded fec’.

I believe my software version is 6.0.2.144 as this is the string that shows on the loading screen when booting the unit. Is this ok?
