Selenia Dimensions error 8:39 typically indicates a detector communication failure, often related to the fiber PCI card or its connection. Since the green LED is not on, it suggests the card is either not receiving power or not communicating with the system.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Fiber PCI Card Connections:

    • Power off the system completely.
    • Remove and reseat the fiber optic cables.
    • Ensure the PCI card is securely seated in its slot.
  2. Inspect LED Indicators:

    • If the green LED is off, check for any damaged fiber optic cables or a faulty PCI card.
    • If there’s a red LED, the card might need replacement.
  3. Verify Power to the Detector:

    • Inspect the detector power supply unit (PSU).
    • Check for blown fuses or loose power connectors.
  4. Check Software and Firmware:

    • Boot into the service menu and check for detector status.
    • Ensure the system recognizes the PCI card.
  5. Replace Fiber PCI Card (if necessary):

    • If reseating doesn’t work, the card may be faulty and need replacement.

You're making progress! Since the detector is now online, but you're still seeing errors 8:48 and 8:47 on the Hologic Selenia Dimensions, here's what these errors generally indicate:

Error Code Breakdown:

  • 8:39 – Typically a communication failure (which you fixed by reconnecting the cable).
  • 8:48Detector temperature out of range
  • 8:47X-ray detector communication issue or internal failure

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Power Cycle the System Properly

  • Turn off the system and wait 5–10 minutes before restarting.
  • Make sure the system follows a proper boot sequence.
  • Check if errors clear after a full reboot.

2. Check Detector Cooling System (For 8:48 Error)

  • Ensure the cooling fans inside the detector are running.
  • Verify the airflow and ventilation around the machine.
  • If the detector has a temperature sensor, make sure it is properly connected.

3. Reseat Detector Connections (For 8:47 Error)

  • Since you found a disconnected cable earlier, re-check all connections going to the detector.
  • Specifically, inspect the fiber optic cables or data cables that communicate with the detector.

4. Review the Service Logs

  • If you have access to the Service Menu, check for detailed error logs to pinpoint the issue.
  • If error codes repeat, try resetting them via the diagnostic tools.

5. Perform a Detector Recalibration

  • If the detector was offline for a long time, it may need to recalibrate.
  • A full detector calibration can be done from the service menu if you have technician access.

is your issue resolved? I get the same issue 8:39 and 8:48. Everywhere i ask i get the answer to replace detector which is out of budget range. Is there any way to work on HV assembly to resolve the issue?
