The error code 12-34-1-0 on the Siemens Mammomat Fusion typically refers to an issue related to the X-ray tube control or high-voltage generator, specifically when using the large focus setting.

Let’s break down the code:

Siemens Error Code Structure (typical format):

So for:

  • 12 – Likely refers to X-ray generator / HV issues

  • 34 – Possibly points to focal spot control or tube filament current regulation

  • 1 – May refer to focus selection or exposure triggering issue

  • 0 – Indicates first occurrence or default detail code

 What This Likely Means:

The system is encountering a problem switching to or operating with the large focal spot. This could be due to:

  • A faulty filament or focus selector relay in the X-ray tube housing

  • An issue with filament current regulation (too low or too high)

  • A communication issue between the tube head and generator

  • A failing high voltage generator component that struggles with high load

 Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Power Cycle System

    • Fully shut down and restart the Mammomat.

    • Clear the error and retry with small focus to isolate the issue.

  2. Inspect Filament Voltages (if service mode accessible)

    • Check if filament current/voltage for large focus is within normal limits.

  3. Try Low mAs Exposure on Large Focus

    • If it works at low power but fails at higher, it's likely a tube or HV generator degradation issue.

  4. Check for Recent Maintenance

    • Has the tube been replaced recently?

    • Was the generator calibrated properly post-install?

  5. Check Cables and Connectors

    • Inspect HV cables to the tube for signs of arcing or wear.

    • Reseat all connectors from the generator to the tube assembly.

Greetings to all.

I have already encountered this defect and 95% of the time it was always the defective tube. I am not saying that these defect codes are the same, but I ask that you focus on the tube.
