Cryo 2000 was probably the first Sakura cryostat - probably about 1998 or 2000. Before that, there was the Tissue-Tek II, which was not made by Sakura. The Cryo 2000 essentially used the microtome from the Tissue-Tek II, inside a new cabinet.
