I have a unit, recently replaced base motor & now foot rest sounds like it is engaged, but foot rest is stuck in up position.
Ritter 75 footrest

Hey T-Javi,
There is a little tray between the foot section and the seat. Push that in. There is a little switch behind it that prevents the foot section from moving if the tray isn't pushed in all the way.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I found the tray pushed back, but did pull it out and pushed back in place. No change. No fluid leaks, but no action on the piston. Fluid level is at 3/4 full as recommended.
Any other thoughts?

I've also seen that switch get knocked out of place. I'd just make sure it is in there and not unplugged or anything. There is a solenoid that needs to activate to allow hydraulic fluid to pass to the footrest piston. It won't activate if this switch isn't closed. After that I'd track down the solenoid.
Also, the service manual is in the documents section on the left and section 2-6 deals with the footrest not moving. The pump running but not moving the footrest says limit switch to me but there are a few things it could be.
Good luck!

typically the chair will beep when you push the foot controls if the drawer limit switch is not engaged. Is your chair beeping when you press foot up/down?
what specific model do you have? the 75 series encompasses multiple models across the range from 119 - 630.
All other functions are working properly and you've tried to use the foot via a foot or hand control plugged into both the front and rear ports?
the next step would be to access the control pcb and swap foot with any other function to see if the issue follows the foot section or the foot control buttons.

No beeping. Model is a 119.
I chk continuity on switch-ok. Solenoid checks out, no leaking or puffed out. I did find the cable to the foot rest crushed in 3-4 places at the base, about 4” from the CB. Could not chk continuity on that cable as it terminates inside the piston.
Thinking of ordering a new piston.
