You can see the info and buttons you can actuate them but the backlight is not working. I am trying to find a service manual so I can get the part. Vendor will give me part number availability and pricing but I do not have the part number, I asked to obtain a service manual and I am told they will send a FS person out. All I need is to get the service manual so I can obtain the P# and see about taking it apart and replacing the part.

By "Vendor," do you mean Epredia? Epredia is the current owner/manufacturer of all the Thermo AP product lines. Up to now, they have been fairly helpful in determining parts.

If you are a service engineer, you can easily find the display backlight lamp and remove it. You can replace it with a thin 12-volt or 5-volt LED strip. You can find these voltages on the board. I do not know your country or whether it is permissible to perform repairs in this manner.
From what I've seen, it appears that the HistoStar is, in many ways, a repackaged HistoCentre 3, so that service manual.may be helpful, if that is available.
