Recorder Common Error

The cPM8 “Recorder Comm Error” is usually:

Bad printer communication cable or loose header on the mainboard

Blown recorder interface IC on the mainboard

Wrong/unsupported printer module

Quick hits:

Reseat the recorder ribbon/cable both ends.

Check for bent pins at the printer connector.

Swap in a known-good recorder cable (most common fix).

If still dead — mainboard recorder interface is fried.

Printer replacement alone won’t clear it.
