Planmed Sophie Classic shows error code 01 when pressed exposure switch

Err-01 on a Sophie Classic is basically “no HV/MG start” — the tube isn’t getting the all-clear to fire.

In plain terms: one of the interlocks isn’t closing.

Quick checklist (in the order these usually fail):

Door interlock switch – most common. Dirty, loose, or out of alignment.

Arm/travel limit switches – the unit won’t expose if a limit switch isn’t made.

Compression paddle microswitch – must be fully latched.

Prep (rotor) signal – bad coil or loose wiring on the prep relay.

HV generator enable cable – reseat both ends; they loosen with age.

Nine out of ten times Err-01 is a door switch or compression switch acting flaky. Fix the bad interlock and the code clears immediately.
