Underneath the pedistal theres the Hellmer brake assembly. On that assembly theres a rocker arm with a spring thats about 3" long. I have two units that this spring has broke. The manufacturer does not just sell the spring. They want you to buy the whole unit at $1700 - $3000 depending on where you look. I have tried to use springs from lowes or home depot but the springs only last for a few months. Has anyone else encontered this yet on a Logic 9 or a Vivid 7 (the assemblys are identical)? If so any tips for a work around would be great. Thnx!

Brake Spring

Hello,
I would recommend that you take a good one and visit a local machine shop to have them machine one for you. They should be able to measure the tensile strength of the original spring to ensure you have a "like" replacement.
Best regards,

It’s really not sold separately.
The part number for the Pedal Assembly FB200595
We have seen brake problems quite often on Vivid7 and Logiq9, but most of the times the problem is solved simply by an adjustment procedure. (Pages 6-16 to 6-18 of Service Manual).
Only once we had to replace the pedal.

I have seen this on most of our Logic 9 units. I am not very happy with the weak construction in the pedal unit. i.e. Styrofoam pedals covered in plastic. I have repaired a spring by bending out the next coil to get the unit by while we looked for parts and this one is still going 2 years later. Even the buttons are poorly constructed popping out and paint wearing off within the first year.
