Video noise

We use a Olympus exera ii - sometimes i see video "noise" that looks like sharp peaks or chroma-key color saturation on the screen. Scope has not been flooded. Not a chronic problem as 9 times out of 10 after I re-seat it, the scope works fine. Any ideas what causes this??  Thanks !! Jake

Hi Jake,

The noise in the image could be a result of a defect in the scope's CCD (or camera).  Sometimes this defect can be isolated by manipulating the bending section in a certain position.  Although intermittent, it will likely continue to get worse.  Although common, this is just one possible scenario.  e-Scope, LLC is a company that specializes in CCD repair and rewiring.  Feel free to contact us directly at 866-232-5190.  You can send your scope in for a free evaluation.  Please visit our website at www.e-endoscope.net to learn more about our CCD repair process.
