the service manual says to use pressure manometer to verify accurate NIBP functions, but it's actually a lot easier for the techs to use the digital BP analyzer. We feel it's a lot more accurate as well as being faster, but are we missing something with our thought process since the service manual says otherwise?

It's not a bad idea (if possible) to use a mercury column or pressue meter to measure static pressure to verify pump accuracy at different pressures. But since bp is a constantly changing measurement, the digital approach seems more accurate to verify what pressures the bp machine is actually seeing from the patient. That is what we use mostly.

So long as the digital simulator is maintained properly and calibrated it is acceptable in every case and standard I have ever come across. However; I personally feel it is important for technicians to maintain the understanding and ability to utilize the 'old school' method.
