DICOM protocol problem

for over 1 week we have had messages appear when we send 3D images to EXCELERA "some problem with DICOM protocol level. Service hasn't found any issues with the machine. My IT department syas it isn't an Excelera issue, its an iE33 problem, Philips says its not an iE33 problem, its a server problem. HELP!!!

My sister hospital is having the exact same issue with another machine at another site reporting to the same server.

Anyone have any ideas? My cart is an "F" cart and I am using software rev. 6.0.0.845

This problem occurs wired or wireless!

Hello,

Did this configuration work previously? If so, has something changed (Software/Hardware upgrade - Protocol change) on either the IE33 or the receiving device (EXCELERA)?

If it did work, ask to see the service records on both devices to find out what was changed.

If it did not ever work it is time to get both service companies in house at the same time to work together rather than putting you in the middle.

Regards,

Chris

thanks for the info

The answer is yes and no!

Yes the protocol worked prior to this, no nothing has changes, hardware or software!

The only problem recently was a wireless access point that was turned off, but has since been turned back on. When we found it both of our iE33 ultrasound machine wouldn't send wireless but 1 would do wired. however since then 3D images have stopped sending on our only machine with 3D capabilities. Doctors are upset and techs are frustrated!

I can at least send complete studies by capturing them as appended studies on a USB thumb drive and then walking them over to other machine and sending imported study to Excelera server, a check of protocol and all other setup settings from 1 machine to another hasn't turned up any differences either!

I would make sure that the systems are configured to only do either wireless or wired. So in other words, make sure there is no cable connected to the unit, reboot and give it a try with wireless only. If you still have issues, try it with only a wired connection with wireless shut off. Perhaps the IE33 is pulling two IP's causing confusion.

It was "finally" found as to the cause. The IT department changed the AE Title and didn't tell anyone. In addition, Philips-Excellera support had a malware update on their server, and it changed the password for the Philips to enter into the network to check settings. After so many unsuccessful log in attempts, Philips was locked out, and my IT department network engineers had to reset their password. This took over a week to correct but no problems since.

My understanding is a California hospital was having the same issue too and the same fix Philips felt would work there too!

Oh, I had a similar problem, but in my case, it turned out to be a problem with security. There was a cyberattack or something, and only after I decided to improve enterprise data security, I managed to get rid of it. But I'm not sure if it can be a solution for you, but I highly recommend you consider it as well.
